Reflection on the Movie

Hey Guys,

Im finally going to add my own thoughts on what I thought about the movie. I definitely enjoyed the movie, and my personal opinion is that i thought the ending of the story was reasonably fair. And I don't mean what Antoinette went through was fair, but an ending like that occurring in Britain would be considered quite unfortunate. I'm glad Antoinette burnt the house, haha. So I was fairly satisfied with that.

One of the things I couldn't understand was how Antoinette had shown her feelings when she found out about Rochester and the maid. I was expecting her the to be more harsh towards Rochester, and that's what i found unfair. If it was me i wouldn't be able to be around Rochester or even look at him. But I guess, that's what that makes Antoinette a strong character to be able to deal with so pain at once.

I'm still keeping my options open for my re-write. However I've also been thinking that I might want to re-write the part where Antoinette finds out about Rochester and the maid and maybe fill in more anger to show Rochester what he did was wrong, leading to why he decides to take her to Britain, because of her anger and behavior towards Rochester.

I'm still thinking about this idea, it would require me to thoroughly research the character Antoinette and re- write a more descriptive diary of what exactly she was going through at that time. I also thought there was something fishy going on with Christophine, I felt that she could have gone out of her way to help Antoinette stay back in Jamaica, but the situation just seemed like nothing could be done. I also might want to change the character of Christophine, because I couldn't seem to understand the character Christophine clearly, sometimes I saw her as Antoinette's
Angel but then why did a wise lady like Christophine give Antoinette the obeah?

Great Movie!! :D

Hi Akash,

Nice reflection of the film, and yeah good on Antoinette for burning down that house. They deserved it. HAHA ...

I reckon the character of Antoinette was not treated fairly either.

As for your re-write, post it up when you've decided to write something.
