The idea about re-write

I have some idea about my re-write. I want to rewrite Jane Eyre, by C Bronte. I am aiming to introduce the life of Adélè. The story will have three parts: first, the childhood of Adélè, when she lived with her mother; second part is the life in Thorn Field, includeing Jane being her teacher. The last part is the two stages of her school life- the first "coolest" school, and the second "warmest" school.
I want through Adélè's childhood life, laying the nature of post-colonialism. That is just my preparatory stage of the re-write. I hope someone can give me some advice!!

Thanks!

Hi there,
I think you have a great idea to start with - I myself have been curious about Adele and so am interested to see what you come up with. How do you (or do you) think she is marginalised in 'Jane Eyre'?

Hi Esther,
I am sorry for that I am not sure the meaning of "marginalised"......
And the reason I want to write the Adele something, is that I think the life of this child can show the nature of the post-colonialism, especially the school life, I think it can obviously show the post-colonialism thing!!

Hi Lily,
I'll be interested to see how Adele's childhood can reflect Post-Colonial concerns - good luck!
"Marginalised" is wuite an important word in Post-Colonial studies - have a look in the dictionary and let me know why you think it might be so important :)
